A Swiss passenger train has derailed due to a landslide in the Tiefencastel municipality in the country’s east, police told local media, describing the incident as “serious.” First images from the scene show two carriages perilously hanging in woodland.
The derailment happened in the Graubuenden region near Tiefencastel, in the east of the country, Switzerland’s ATS news agency reported. The train was traveling from Chur to St. Moritz and is operated by the Rhaetain railway company, with around 200 people on board.
